It is not the ‘Education’ we need.

Mark my words, it is ‘Character’.

Of course I am not discussing the basic education which always remain absolute necessary, but higher education.

Having higher education is a decision people make, of course we encourage, but this never meant un-educated people don’t deserve to have a job which can pay the bills and provide basic necessities of life.

Teaching undergraduate level students and different certification in a different country I was opt to admit once again that technically Pakistani students are capable of much more. Its secondary how much you know, but how much you share and use your skills/knowledge to help the society.

There are a lot of other countries which are considered to be ahead of us with less literacy rates, the difference you see in those countries is not in the research centers and universities but on the streets, roads, shopping malls. It’s the people behaving like the people and not animals, it is the traffic that stops on red light even on 3 AM on a small street, and mind you, most of those drivers too, are uneducated by our definitions. The difference that people will carry their junks in their hands till they find a trash bin and not throwing it away on the roads. It is about respecting each other, and every inch of your nation and not only yourself.

You can recognize a group of Pakistani guys from 15 meters away in malls or on roads, I am not saying young guys of other nations don’t enjoy when they are around but there is a difference between enjoying within your boundary or stepping over into others, the same difference like laughing at them, or with them.

I have been asked more then once and from number of people about many things Pakistani’s do and to be honest I have no answer why, all I can do is try to convince it was an isolated case you witnessed, every nation has few bad people.

On a different note though, I am glad the shoe (Khussa, the hand made traditional shoe) I brought for an Indian friend is the correct size and he liked it so much that he has decided to wear it on his wedding in December in India. It just feels so good to know what you bought for someone will be used in India and on such a wonderful event.

An attempt to come back.

At least from past three months I am thinking to resume writing in my blog, but can’t seem to find neither thoughts nor time. I remember being out of words, now I am both, out of words as well as out of thoughts. And time of-course. A lot has happened in past few months and I don’t know where to start to update. I will try though, with time. Hopefully.

Advertising is a Chain Reaction.

In past few years I have made number of communities/groups etc on various social networking sites such as Orkut or Facebook just for the heck of it. Normally, only people you know would join it and that would be it.

Recently, I made a group on Facebook and just because I had nothing better to do that night I almost ended up sending around 50 invites to random people to join it. Half of them did, and a chain reaction started. 25 turned into 30 and 30 into 50, its not even been 10 days since the birth of the group and it already have 270 members as I last checked today.

So yes, whenever you need it, I am suggesting you should go for the advertisement, it pays off. Specially, if your product/service is of more important nature.

Tappar hai tu cross ker.

The art work on Karachi’s Mini Busses, Paintings on the back of trucks on highway and the poetry on the back of cabs and rickshaw’s are probably the most original art form in it self. Funny too, I must say. And they strike best according to the situation.

This Rickshaw, driving very slow in the middle of the road had the following lines written on its back.

Tappar hai tu cross ker
Warna Bardasht ker.

Meray Bachpan Ki Teacher Pyasi

It always gives me fits of laughter when I see the weirdest search keywords people use and end up landing on my blog. In my two years of blogging no one has ever searched for my Nick to find about my blog although people searched for other bloggers and landed on mine. Some of those were Huma Imtiaz, Jammie, Khizzy, Mahwash Ejaz and just few days ago Fariha Akhtar.

Anyway, back to the weird keywords this week’s winner are these two, I can’t decide which one is more hilarious, maybe you can help.

1. Meray bachpan ki teacher pyasi
2. Shiny tight jeans.

Sending “things” as E-Mail attachment.

Few days ago we were having a chat about how cool it will be if in future it’s possible to send physical things as email attachments, or as files on MSN. I can send ‘Biryani’ to my friends on MSN, new cloths can be sent as email attachment without worrying about FedEx.

We then considered what kind of a Hacking will take place in that era. Trojan Horses will not allow hackers to steal the files or control the PC’s instead they will transfer the pretty user of that computer. Port scan will help you find which PC has a beautiful user depending on its complex algorithm and when it’s a beauty match hackers will try to transfer that user instead of any file from the PC.

So be aware all you technology users. There will be a lot of firewalls you will need in future, and if you fail to update it, it can cost you your wife.

SMS(s) of the day.

A signboard on a Mosque “If you are tired of committing sins come inside” and there was a graffiti on the same board written with lipstick “If NOT, come in the opposite house

Ever wondered? We all love to spend a lot of money for buying new cloths but never realize that the best times are enjoyed without them

SMS and reality.

Just picked up a cell from the bed and noticed there was a SMS from K; it made me sad. And I can’t write back a zilch, I know what K wrote is probably true but I don’t want to believe it, I want to live in dissemble and other possibilities. Alas, but I know K has a point and it’s probably ineluctable.

Only if wishes were horses.

I am nothing but a combination of odd frequencies.

The duality of particles/waves now tells us that everything is a particle – quarks. And particles are basically nothing but the waves, the higher the energy of a particle (or density) the smaller the wavelength but the point is; it’s still just the waves.

“Energy can not be created nor destroyed” but ofcourse it can change its form. Now we know that Matter and Energy are basically the same thing. (Or so I would like to believe). Matter is nothing but particle of half a spin, that means a particle which looks exactly the same after its turned round twice the 360 degrees. There are other particles ofcourse, such as of spin 1 or 2. Spin 1 would need a 360 and spin 2 will need 180 degree of turn round to look exactly the same.

Now if I conclude that I am nothing but the combination of different odd frequencies then what is pain? Or happiness? Or any other feeling or emotion for that matter. Or even the physical feelings such as touch, a pain or a smell?

Let me safely assume if there is nothing in the universe but matter and energy and both infact are just the waves then can I say all those emotions or the physical feelings are the waves too? And if so, does that mean each feeling or emotion will have a certain range of wavelength like all the other things. And if that is true, will that mean that all the individuals feel a certain thing in approximately the same way everyone else does because the frequency will be in a certain range?

True Genius.

Even today if you visit some remote parts of the country you can meet people who believe the Earth is flat, some even argue that a Giant Cow is holding the Earth on one of it’s horn and the Earth Quake is caused when the Cow is tired and switches the horn to carry the Earth on different horn.

But there was a man as long as 340 BC ago who put forward three very interesting points in his book “On the heavens” to prove Earth can not be flat. First the eclipse of the moon, the Earth’s shadow is always round on the moon and it can only be true if the Earth was round or spherical. Second, why we see sails coming over the horizons first and the ship later? And the Third, the fact that North Star appears directly above the person if the person is in the north and on the horizon to someone at equator.

This true genius of his time was known as Aristotle. Perhaps one of the greatest philosophers the recorded history has. Almost none of his hypothesis may stand true today but the fact, his ability of reasoning even back then was truly amazing.

I know most of you know all this from schools and anywhere else, but thinking over it I was just once again amazed at the ability the guy had.

Small World.

Indeed it is, I was going thru some old pictures and guess what. A fellow Blogger who I know on the blogging world was with me in one of the picture and I didn’t know/remember (Even at the event the picture was taken we didn’t know each other). I think the picture is around four years old and there are only two people between us.

PS: I hate to admit she stands taller then me.

Shocking news continues to arrive.

Just when I start thinking this was the possible limit of anything the news continues to surprise me. A barbaric, unlawful attack on Geo News office, worst defeat against Ireland in World Cup Cricket and just yesterday, death of Bob Woolmer.

The country had enough for the month; I hope things will gradually start getting better.

The Country’s Judicial and Political situation.

Is in a very sad state.

Really.

The all capable and utmost meek camarilla our King has have made us proud with aesthetic figure of speech and words used on international media. At a wonderfully chosen time when the whole nation was going through another shock, a forced judicial downfall, a mockery.

It is a waste to even talk about it.

God Bless our country.

Tip and Tricks.

Someone asked me a similar question so I just thought I will post it here, in case anyone else can benefit from it.

From which PM (Private Message) did this user landed on my Blog / Web Site?

Okay. So your counter tells you someone landed on your blog/website from probably a PM but when you click it you can’t view it. For e.g. the address looks like the following.

http://abc.com/private.php?showpm=yes&mid=12345

Now if you don’t even know the domain (abc.com) you won’t be able to know, but if it’s a domain where you are a registered member as well you can try this. (ofcourse it still wont work in many situations, such as, (a) the PM is between two random members and not yourself. (b) You already deleted that PM.)

But let’s just assume that 80% it is you who is mentioning your site/blog to your friends/users. So it is often you who either sent that PM to someone, or received, but at this point you are not sure which member was it.

Okay all you have to do is, change that number in the address bar, 12345, make it 12346 & 12344. If you were a sender of that PM the counter will be -1 and if you were at receiving end it will be +1. Simple.

Yes, and make sure you are logged into that domain.

Tagging/Categorizing the Blog Entries.

…is a hard nut to crack for me. I am in the process of categorizing the entries of this blog, and I already feel they were better categorized in un-categorized category. Errr what did I say? Never mind. Each entry I read seems to fit in a totally different category. Anyway, let’s see what I make of it.

PS: I meant, This Blog.

School Fee.

Every time I visit any school with/for younger cousin etc and when I find out about the fee my jaw drops and eyes pop’s out. This school in Karachi has a 3420 British Sterling Pounds as annual fee for 8th graders. Folks, its time to seriously re-consider if you were thinking to have few kids.

I am happy.

Small things/words/gestures can make you so happy.

Chatting lines of the day.

And who says you don’t learn from chat? I asked someone I know online, that how come you never whine? Never once I have heard you complain. Everyone has his/her problems, don’t you have yours? Or you pretend not to have any?

This is what the reply was.

N says:
No one can solve ur problems nor heal ur pain .. except Allah .. its better to Cry in front of Allah than ppl
N says:
i tend to do that
N says:
ppl .. i rather laugh them with
N says:
make them happy n be happy hehe

Un-sensitive nation

We as a nation have become very indifferent – un-sensitive. And a very clear picture can be seen (or felt) on the roads, our responsibility as a driver, as a citizen, and ofcourse, as a human being. I will never understand the haste, the recklessness, irresponsibility of being careless for their life and of others. The gestures, words and knowing what is happening is wrong but being part of it; not willing to let go him first; not willing to wait 5 seconds; not willing to stop on red light. The endless list.

Celebrity look-alikes

I have chosen to stay hidden, but that was a decent photo I submitted, really. And look at what celebrities I look alike :\ or atleast, that’s what their system thinks.

Anyway, do we still "Tag" here? If we do, I Tag all those restless souls who still visit this haunted blog.

Ready to start over

I am, once again, at the same place, where I was. Like a circle, as Sid would have put. I had a dream, a vision, a thought, and, to a point – a certain point, I achieved, atleast some of it, by the grace of almighty.

Dreams, process, success, failure, give up, hope, re-think, re-dream.

And here I am, tired, torn apart, but, ready to stand again, to start over, and to achieve again.

Re-writing

Re-writing is like re-trusting someone. It’s like learning all over again how to share, how to convert the feelings – thoughts – into words.

Or simply, what I meant was.

It’s difficult; very difficult.

Civilized Jungle

When I was a kid I used to think the world was a beautiful place. Everything was fun, everyone was nice, there were no lies and there were no worries.

I grew old.

Learnt to see a different angle, sometimes with age and experience at others I was told or taught. And the perception changed.

The world is perhaps the “civilized jungle” and we are no more then bunch of animals, we hunt the weaker. All of us, in one way or the other. I can not distinguish between the white and black anymore, everything seems so grey.

Dream interpreter.

Recently, I have started to watch my beloved granny (Nani) in frequent dreams. Every other sleep.

After almost twenty minutes of staring at the cursor I couldn’t figure it out what I wanted to write here. I should end this entry hence.

Updates

There was a lot to write about; thoughts, experiences, emotions, events and what not. But I believe there is also a right time to share, if the time has gone, it’s of no use. Anyway, so I think I will just update the blog with some major events.

  • My cell phone was snatched at gun point.
  • I need to see a dentist but cant find a time.
  • My dad arrived.
  • Dad and mom went to Malaysia to meet big bro.
  • I am home alone.
  • I earnestly wished to spend sometime with a friend, let it be a lunch or just a hang out, but for one reason or the other I couldn’t.
  • I went thru some major emotional up’s and down’s and now I stand somewhere at the middle – balanced.
  • Before todays off, I worked ten continuous days.

Errr… I have become ‘tun’ I don’t remember what else to write.
