It is not the ‘Education’ we need.

Mark my words, it is ‘Character’.

Of course I am not discussing the basic education which always remain absolute necessary, but higher education.

Having higher education is a decision people make, of course we encourage, but this never meant un-educated people don’t deserve to have a job which can pay the bills and provide basic necessities of life.

Teaching undergraduate level students and different certification in a different country I was opt to admit once again that technically Pakistani students are capable of much more. Its secondary how much you know, but how much you share and use your skills/knowledge to help the society.

There are a lot of other countries which are considered to be ahead of us with less literacy rates, the difference you see in those countries is not in the research centers and universities but on the streets, roads, shopping malls. It’s the people behaving like the people and not animals, it is the traffic that stops on red light even on 3 AM on a small street, and mind you, most of those drivers too, are uneducated by our definitions. The difference that people will carry their junks in their hands till they find a trash bin and not throwing it away on the roads. It is about respecting each other, and every inch of your nation and not only yourself.

You can recognize a group of Pakistani guys from 15 meters away in malls or on roads, I am not saying young guys of other nations don’t enjoy when they are around but there is a difference between enjoying within your boundary or stepping over into others, the same difference like laughing at them, or with them.

I have been asked more then once and from number of people about many things Pakistani’s do and to be honest I have no answer why, all I can do is try to convince it was an isolated case you witnessed, every nation has few bad people.

On a different note though, I am glad the shoe (Khussa, the hand made traditional shoe) I brought for an Indian friend is the correct size and he liked it so much that he has decided to wear it on his wedding in December in India. It just feels so good to know what you bought for someone will be used in India and on such a wonderful event.

An attempt to come back.

At least from past three months I am thinking to resume writing in my blog, but can’t seem to find neither thoughts nor time. I remember being out of words, now I am both, out of words as well as out of thoughts. And time of-course. A lot has happened in past few months and I don’t know where to start to update. I will try though, with time. Hopefully.
